Denis MacEoin about Balyuzi's Hagiographical book on Baha'u'llah
Here, as in most other Baha'i historical works, I would like to have seen far more footnote references to the sources used. References are almost exclusively to actual quotations, while the many details of fact, some of them fresh, go unsourced This would be bad enough in any work of history, but in a study of a subject so thick with controversy it is all the more unsettling. The same criticism must apply to the skimpy bibliography, which gives no details of manuscript materials and only lists a small proportion of the printed works that must have been used at some stage of the author's research. Perhaps some of these faults could be rectified in a future edition.
