The Baha'i claim that the Bab is buried in Haifa (Israel) is one that raises many questions. According to this cult, their leader was executed in Iran in 1850, and his mingled body (most part of it was eaten by stray dogs when it was thrown in the garbage outside Tabriz) was smuggled, in a trunk, successfully from Iran to Israel in a time and place when the best mode of transport was horse and buggy! The journey would have involved stopping for extended lengths of time in various Ottoman cities, making the journey even more improbable. How could such a feat have been possible? The Ottomans were known for their thorough border controls, which would have made it difficult to smuggle anything across their borders undetected!
