Denis MacEoin about Baha'u'llah's brief imprisonments, mansions and expensive gifts
I was much impressed by the fact that, unlike many other Baha'i writers, Balyuzi has avoided the temptation to colour Baha' Allah's periods of exile and his brief imprisonments as forty years of unrelieved horror and close confinement. There are references to mansions rented, to expensive gifts bestowed, and to trading activities, so that the hitherto mysterious world of the Iranian exiles is brought a trifle closer to mundane reality.
