The Nownahálán company (literally “saplings”) was a Bahá’í children’s thrift fund created under ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s approval and blessing in 1917. Established as a non-profit and charitable institution, in 1967 it was composed by 9,000 shareholders with assets amounted to $1,700,000 which were all confiscated by the Islamic revolution. Many Iranian pioneers living overseas relied on the income generated by their savings.
